Featured Dish: Meat & Cheese Charcuterie

BoMe Cheese is a small artisan company located on 8.3 acres of property off of the Port Alberni Highway just outside of Coombs. Owned and operated by Horst Boehm and his wife, Birgit “Bibi” Menge, who immigrated from Germany on a business visa in 1999. The couple, along with Menge’s son, cheesemaker Jonas Menge, built nearly the entire facility by themselves, including the tile floor in the spacious café.

Featured Dish: Scallops & Brussels

The We Wai Kai Nation's scallop farm is located in Suitl Channel, within Drew Harbour Indian Reserve No. 9, on the east side of Quadra Island. Cultivated and harvested by Quadra Island's We Wai Kai Nation in the cold, fast moving waters off of Rebecca Spit Provincial Park, is just one of the aspects that makes this scallop unique. It's also a hybrid of Weathervane, for hardiness & size, and Hokkaido, for sweetness. Truly tide to table at it's finest!


 
Featured Dish: Soured Flour

Venturi-Schulze Balsamic Vinegar is simmered to a concentration over an open fire, and converted to vinegar by the slow, natural ancient process. It is aged in over 100 barrels, from 2,500 litre custom made French oak barrels and 227 litre barriques. Each of these series ranges from 20 to 50 litres in size in five different varieties of wood: acacia, ash, cherry, oak and chestnut, each adding its own unique character.

Featured Dish: THE COWICHAN VALLEY

Cowichan Pasta works with local farmers to grow both ancient grains and modern grains for their pasta production which is then milled at True Grain Mill and Bakery. Producing frozen ravioli and dried pasta using ingredients from BC and many local products such as salt from Vancouver Island Salt Company, Cowichan Valley beef, BC spot prawns, vegetables and foraged items like seaweed and mushrooms when in season.
